On Wednesday, May 31st, 2006, the CSPBA held its regular bimonthly dinner at the St-Denis Club, in Montreal. Our distinguished guest and speaker was Dr. Joe Schwarcz, Director of the Office for Science & Society, at McGill University. His 20 minute speech “The Magic of Chemistry” was extremely well received.
The ambiance, attire and the service of the St-Denis Club exceeded all expectations and the capacity crowd of 60 guests greatly enjoyed the delicious three course dinner followed by Dr. Schwarcz’s wonderfully entertaining presentation. Among the distinguished guests were: Mr. & Mrs. Istvan Mailath, publisher of the Magyar Kronika; and Mr. George Iny, President of the Automobile Protection Association (APA). Even the Canadian ex-Prime minister, Mr. Brian Mulroney, made a short appearance.
The next dinner in September (details will be announced in August) will be devoted to our 41st Annual Scholarship Ball, which will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2006, at The Challenger Club, in Ville St Laurent. The details about this Ball, along with the Scholarship applications, will be available on this website by mid-September.
I extend my personal thanks and appreciation to all the guests of the May dinner who contributed to the success of this very special evening. Dr. Brody, President of the CSPBA
